Dakota Cub Aircraft received design approval in August 1993, and parts manufacturing approval (PMA) for replacement wing ribs in October 1993. This STC has been amended three times, and currently covers eight Piper models as indicated in the eligibility listing. These replacement "truss type" wing ribs are fabricated exclusively from aircraft quality materials, and exactly match the original Piper airfoil contour. Their high strength and durable design provides an excellent replacement for the original style rib assembly. There is a slight weight penalty (approximately 7 pounds per complete 26-32 rib set) when installing a complete wing rib set. That weight penalty is quickly offset by the incredible durability of this rib design. The high quality rib capstrip extrusion has been load tested and certified for aircraft with gross weights of up to 2250 pounds. Quality - Durability - Structural Integrity Note: Rib stitching must be used for fabric attachment. Approved for use on Piper models J3 (wood or metal spar), J4, J5C (metal spar), PA-11, PA-12, PA-14, PA-18, PA-22 Approved Model List J3C-40, J3C-50, J3C-50S, J3C-65, J3C-65S, J4, J4A-S, J4B, J4E (Army L-4E), J4F, J5C, PA-11, PA-11S, PA-12, PA-12S, PA-14, PA-18, PA-18A, PA-18S, PA-18"135", PA-18A"135", PA-18S"135", PA-18"150", PA-18A"150", PA-18S"150", PA-22-150, PA-22S-150, PA-22-160, PA-22S-160 |
